National Relaxation Day

Focus on you with a mental reset

Relax, It’s Good for You

Summertime is the perfect time to reconnect with friends and family or to travel to your favorite destinations. But, with all the travel, social events, and the hotter temperatures, this can wear us down mentally and physically. National Relaxation Day is on August 15th. This is the perfect time to unwind, reset, and relax from all the summer activities!

Stress Less

National Relaxation Day is dedicated to promoting stress relief through relaxation techniques. Stress can be harmful to your health, both mentally and physically. Finding ways to reduce stress can improve your overall health. Here are some tips on how to reduce stress:

  • Eat a healthy diet: include fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, low-fat dairy, and whole grains.
  • Limit caffeine as it can increase stress levels.
  • Minimize phone and screen time by setting time limits on electronic devices.
  • Practice relaxation activities such as meditation or yoga.
  • Make time for hobbies like reading a book, doing a puzzle, or crafting.
  • Seek support from friends and family when feeling overwhelmed.
  • Keep a journal of daily thoughts.
  • Learn to say no and ask for help when needed.
  • Get 7-8 hours of sleep every night.
  • Take a vacation for a change of scenery.
  • Move your body daily to boost energy and improve your self-esteem.
  • Smile! Smiling can decrease stress by sending “feel good” messages to your whole body.
